Monster Monday & Table Tuesday - 24 HOURS REMAIN
8 months ago – Tue, Feb 27, 2024 at 11:45:42 AM

Dungeoneers,

It's Table Tuesday! But since we missed it yesterday, it's also Monster Monday! Doing a double feature today in celebration of our last 24 hours of the campaign!

That's right -- the campaign ends tomorrow, February 28!

So if you haven't already, please share the campaign with friends, family, neighbors, the mailman, etc. I sincerely appreciate how many of you have backed the campaign and if you haven't yet, you've only got a limited time left!

Backers, buckle up - we've got a few more community votes coming in hot below!

Update 6: Busy Week!
8 months ago – Wed, Feb 21, 2024 at 05:42:22 AM

Dungeoneers,

Apologies first and foremost for the radio silence the past few days. This week has been crazy on my end:

  • Monday I was home with the kiddo (gotta love professional development days!), drove a few hours to and from to help my grandma get a new cat, and ran a game of DND for a group of 8-11 year olds (it was insanity and chaos and wonderful).
  • Yesterday and today I've got full day in-person work stuff, as our entire marketing team that's kind of spread out across the country are together for the first time. So it's usually an early start, all day meetings and team building stuff, and then a dinner and drinks at the end of the day and into the night.
  • All of this is on top of my normal weekly prep for my home campaign, chores and dinner and stuff around the house, and ensuring everything is going smoothly from a fulfillment perspective here on BackerKit.

That hasn't left a ton of time for Monster Monday, Table Tuesday, or Winner Wednesday. Unfortunately, it also means that I'll have to reschedule tomorrow's Dungeoneering Actual Play as well. I just haven't had the time to sit down and make sure its a great experience for the folks who might want to play and I don't want to run a sub-par game for anybody.

I'll try and answer some questions I've gotten below:

What about the project deliverables? Are you behind on those?

Thankfully, there are no changes to the delivery of post-campaign timeline so we're still on track for you all to get PDFs of Catalysts in March, PDFs of the Starlit Spire in April, and then physical fulfillment from there.

If we hit any stretch goals, that may extend the timeline slightly but I anticipate it would be a minimal adjustment.

Will you be posting the Monster Monday, Table Tuesday, and Winner Wednesday retroactively for this week?

If I have time, I might do a mega post on Friday for the Monster, Table, and Winner posts I missed out on. I don't want to guarantee it'll happen, but I'm working to try and give myself the time to do it.

What's the plan for next week?

If you didn't notice, next week is the last week of the campaign! One thing I'm sure folks missed (which I say because I missed it) is that I set the end date of the campaign to February 28, which is obviously not the last day of the month. This was not on purpose - I just forgot how many days were in February!

So please, share with friends, Reddit, your Discord servers, or anywhere else you think people will be interested in backing the game. At this rate, I think we'll likely finish in the $4,000-$5,000 range which is a very respectable place to land and will get us the first stretch goal of six added d100 tables (for a total of 13 tables in the book).

---

That's it for me today! Hope everyone is having a good week so far. Get out there and play some games, and we'll talk more towards the end of the week.

Going Live in 30 Minutes! Build a Dungeon Live with Me
8 months ago – Thu, Feb 15, 2024 at 09:37:23 AM

Dungeoneers,

In just under 30 minutes I'll be building a dungeon LIVE ON YOUTUBE using the tools found in the three Dungeoneering books (the core rules, Wanderers, and Catalysts). Not only is this a great way to learn more about the tables available in the prior books, but its also a first look into Catalysts and what we can generate from there!

You can join the stream on the main project page here on BackerKit or you can head to the link below and follow along. Last week's livestream, I had a great conversation with a backer - hoping for more of that today!

See you then!

Winner Wednesday - 2/14/24
8 months ago – Wed, Feb 14, 2024 at 07:20:25 AM

Dungeoneers,

Today is Winner Wednesday! Wednesdays are where if you share any of our posts on social media, you'll be added to a weekly raffle. The winner of that raffle will get a mystery freebie added to their shipment free of charge. It could be a pin—it could be a totally different RPG book! Share and see!

Rules are listed in the Backer Only section!

BUT - before you go, I wanted to quickly remind everyone that tomorrow I'll be doing a livestream where I build a dungeon using only the tools found in Dungeoneering, Wanderers, and Catalysts! This will not only be a chance to see how these books work together, but it'll also give you a sneak peak at some of the content in Catalysts in action!

The main page is updated with the stream link, so keep your eyes peeled for when we go live tomorrow at 1PM EST.

Table Tuesday - 2/13/24
8 months ago – Tue, Feb 13, 2024 at 11:53:40 AM

Dungeoneers,

iiiiiiiit's Table Tuesday

We're back again, giving you the power to help shape the final content of our upcoming tables in the Catalysts book. As a quick reminder, here's a quick look at the entire range of tables found in Catalysts:

  • Room Features: Spice up your dungeons or add flavor to existing rooms with a variety of features.
  • Dungeon Hazards: From mild inconveniences to deadly traps, these hazards add a layer of unpredictability.
  • Strange Inhabitants: Encounter anthropomorphic creatures or unique characters inspired by animal traits.
  • Ingredient Words: A resource for alchemists to find the necessary components for their concoctions.
  • Monuments & Statues: Give dungeons history and an interactive exploration aspect with these elements.
  • Abandoned Campsites: Discover remnants of previous adventurers, ranging from mundane to magical.
  • Monster Traits: Necromancers summon skeletons with retained abilities, adding a twist to encounters.

Last week we asked for your vote on several entries for Room Features and Dungeon Hazards. This week, we're taking a look at Strange Inhabitants and Ingredient Words!

Participating is easy (note you must be a backer to vote!): Simply cast your vote by commenting below with which entries you think should go in the book!

BUT, no matter how much you might like them all, you can only choose one per table.

Every vote, comment, and suggestion brings us closer to finalizing a book that we all can be proud of. Stay tuned for the results and more opportunities to shape Catalysts. Your support has been the cornerstone of this project.
